Hi, I'm Vincenzo Gambino
Freelance Drupal Architect and AI Integration Engineer, 18 years in web development, based in Palermo and available for contract work. I build headless platforms on Drupal and Sanity, develop frontends with React, Next.js and Astro, and integrate AI into products through RAG systems, agents, chatbots and GenAI features, using Python and Node.js on the backend. I tend to own projects end to end, from requirements through deployment.
I trade as Striped Codex Limited. The roles listed below are contract engagements delivered through Striped Codex for clients including HMRC, Cambridge University, the Greater London Authority, Pearson, MSF and Concentrix. Highlights include a £2M Drupal platform serving 55,000 Metropolitan Police personnel with custom single sign-on, and rebuilding an HMRC reporting page in React that cut load times from over twenty seconds to near instant. I have led several Drupal 7 to 9, 10 and 11 migrations on large, high-traffic estates.
I speak regularly at DrupalCamps and developer conferences across Europe, the US and Japan, co-organise DrupalCamp Italy and two communities in Palermo, and co-authored Jumpstart Jamstack Development.
Outside work you will usually find me playing five-a-side football or at a gig.
